Both sociology and psychology are areas of the social sciences and are in an interdisciplinary relationship to each other. However, the research objects and methods of the two disciplines often differ. Sociology develops explanations for social relationships and examines various areas of social life such as consumption, health, working life, leisure, the relationship between humans and other living beings, populations, migration and social inequalities, while psychology examines the feelings, thoughts and behavior of people and other living beings. Sociologists can study topics such as "emotions" which, at first glance, appear to be relevant only to psychology. In contrast to psychologists, sociologists focus their research on the social nature of these topics in such studies. For example, you can study how different emotions acquire different meanings in different historical and geographical contexts, and how specific emotions are commercialized through specific social processes.
