Our faculty members Dr. Güzin Ağca-Varoğlu and Dr. Ayça Yılmaz presented their papers at the conference “Fragmented Societies & Fragmented Science: Theory and Methods for Global Sociology in Turbulent Times” organized by ESA Research Network 15.

The conference titled “Fragmented Societies & Fragmented Science: Theory and Methods for Global Sociology in Turbulent Times”, organized by the European Sociological Association Research Network 15 (Global, Transnational, and Cosmopolitan Sociology), took place in Split, Croatia. The program, which brought together researchers from many countries around the world, opened with keynote speeches by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Valerija Barada from the University of Zadar in Zagreb, Prof. Dr. Alexandros Kentikelenis from Bocconi University in Milan, and Prof. Dr. Geoffrey Pleyers, President of the International Sociological Association. From our department, Dr. Ayça Yılmaz contributed with her paper “The Intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Political Polarization and Universities in Turkey” and Dr. F. Güzin Ağca Varoğlu with her paper “Understanding ‘Difference’ in Muslim Minorit(ies) in Germany”. We congratulate our colleagues.
